The »bidding war« ended at GBP 62,500.00 (€ 84,872.00), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francesco Albotto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venice, A View Of The Molo From The Bacino Di San Marco, With The Piazzetta And The Palazzo Ducale in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 638,500.00 (€ 519,485.80).
