Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection, which included the work Ann Gunning, Paris Collections, for Vogue, August 1952 by Frances McLaughlin-Gill. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,334.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frances McLaughlin-Gill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bettina (Graziani), Vogue, 1950, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 7,800.00 (€ 6,502.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ann Gunning, Paris Collections, for Vogue, August 1952 von Frances McLaughlin-Gill zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.334,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frances McLaughlin-Gill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bettina (Graziani), Vogue, 1950 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 7.800,00 (€ 6.502,71) versteigert wurde.
