Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Preparativi per la pesca by Fortunato Fontana for GBP 500.00 (€ 628.12). This price was achieved in the auction Nineteenth Century European Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fortunato Fontana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A port on the Neopolitan coast in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 6,906.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Preparativi per la pesca von Fortunato Fontana für GBP 500,00 (€ 628,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fortunato Fontana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A port on the Neopolitan coast im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.465,00 (€ 6.906,34).
