In October last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Animalia, which included the work Male Red Tail Hawk and Coastal Rocket - Merlin Female Falco Columbarius (a group of two) by Floyd Scholz. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,668.51), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Floyd Scholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jungle Fire (Ornate Hawk Eagle with Sulpher Breasted Toucan) in October last year with an auction result of USD 23,587.50 (€ 23,744.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Animalia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Male Red Tail Hawk and Coastal Rocket - Merlin Female Falco Columbarius (a group of two) von Floyd Scholz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.668,51) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Floyd Scholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jungle Fire (Ornate Hawk Eagle with Sulpher Breasted Toucan) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.587,50 (€ 23.744,21).
