Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Golden Age by Florence St. John Cadell was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 156.00 (€ 223.52). Admittedly, works by Florence St. John Cadell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Apple In A Dish On A Draped Table in March 2006 with an auction result of GBP 660.00 (€ 945.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Golden Age von Florence St. John Cadell im März 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 156,00 (€ 223,52) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Florence St. John Cadell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Apple In A Dish On A Draped Table im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 660,00 (€ 945,66).
