Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The swallow by Florence Mackay was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007. It changed hands for a price of GBP 660.00 (€ 980.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Florence Mackay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the doves, which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,706.01).

Die Arbeit The swallow von Florence Mackay kam im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 660,00 (€ 980,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Florence Mackay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Feeding the doves beobachtet, die im Dezember 2004 für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.706,01) versteigert wurde.
