Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Januarius holding vials of his blood by Filippo Vitale was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,998.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Filippo Vitale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lot And His Daughters in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 31,660.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit St. Januarius holding vials of his blood von Filippo Vitale kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.998,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Filippo Vitale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lot And His Daughters im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.300,00 (€ 31.660,75).
