Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Leda And The Swan by Filippo Falciatore was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,233.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Filippo Falciatore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An elegant children's tea-party in the forecourt of an Italian villa with a young man passing a joint of meat to a woman standing on a balcony above in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 205,568.77).
