Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Filippo Falciatore could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Fêtes Galantes: A Set Of Four changed hands for USD 146,500.00 (€ 112,234.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Other works by Filippo Falciatore have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2004 by the work An elegant children's tea-party in the forecourt of an Italian villa with a young man passing a joint of meat to a woman standing on a balcony above at GBP 145,250.00 (€ 205,568.77).
