Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Italian horse Guards, Whitehall by Filippo Baratti was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 48,844.78). Other works by Filippo Baratti have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2002 by the work An oath of allegiance in the Hall of the Abencerrajes, Alhambra, Granada at GBP 59,750.00 (€ 92,419.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Italian horse Guards, Whitehall von Filippo Baratti im November 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 39.650,00 (€ 48.844,78) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Filippo Baratti wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2002 die Arbeit An oath of allegiance in the Hall of the Abencerrajes, Alhambra, Granada mit GBP 59.750,00 (€ 92.419,72).
