Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roman campagna by Filippo Anivitti was sold in the 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,937.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Filippo Anivitti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scorcio di Capri con i Faraglioni, 1920, which sold at auction in December 2001 for ITL 6,370,000.00 (€ 5,725.20).
