In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Noonday Meal by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 148,393.02), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930, which sold at auction in March 2019 for HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Noonday Meal von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 148.393,02) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 beobachtet, die im März 2019 für HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93) versteigert wurde.
