This artwork by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Manila Bay Sunset sold for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 57,911.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 280,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fernando Cueto Amorsolo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maiden With Fruits, 1930 in March 2019 with an auction result of HKD 4,975,625.00 (€ 564,565.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Manila Bay Sunset für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 57.911,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 280.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fernando Cueto Amorsolo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maiden With Fruits, 1930 im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.975.625,00 (€ 564.565,93).
