Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Belgian Ethel Strickland by Fernand Khnopff was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,401.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernand Khnopff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belgian les Enfants De Monsieur Neve in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 493,968.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Belgian Ethel Strickland von Fernand Khnopff wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.401,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernand Khnopff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belgian les Enfants De Monsieur Neve im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 422.500,00 (€ 493.968,47).
