Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs: The Evening Sale, which included the work Colossal Statues Seen from Three-Quarters View, the Temple of Ramese at Abu Simbel, c.1851-52 by Félix Teynard. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,281.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Félix Teynard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Karnak (Thèbes), Palais - Salle Hypostyle - Vue Transversale Prise du Point K, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 105,000.00 (€ 96,374.48).
