Auction result well in line with expectations
In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Ladies Wanting Homework, Washington with Whiskey by Felipe Jesus Consalvos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,004.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Felipe Jesus Consalvos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Model Boat, 1920-1950, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,547.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ladies Wanting Homework, Washington with Whiskey von Felipe Jesus Consalvos zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 2.004,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Felipe Jesus Consalvos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Model Boat, 1920-1950 beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.547,93) versteigert wurde.
