This artwork by Federico Herrero achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2017. In the Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery auction, the work Amansalva sold for USD 47,500.00 (€ 44,400.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Federico Herrero; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Paisaje sold at auction in May 2015 with the realized price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32).
