Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Galala Village by Faraj Abbo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,769.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Faraj Abbo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,980.85).
