Artwork auctioned at nine times the upper estimate price
The work Flowers by Fang Wanyi was worth HKD 562,500.00 (€ 55,782.26) to a buyer in May 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fang Wanyi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ink Plum Blossom sold at auction in April 2017 with the realized price of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 95,904.08).

Die Arbeit Flowers von Fang Wanyi war einem Käufer im Mai 2013 HKD 562.500,00 (€ 55.782,26) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Fang Wanyi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ink Plum Blossom im April 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 95.904,08).
