In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Zhong Kui by Fan Zeng. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 945,000.00 (€ 113,268.73), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Zeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Finishing Touch of the Dragon Eye in August last year with an auction result of HKD 17,700,000.00 (€ 2,240,417.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Köln die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zhong Kui von Fan Zeng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 945.000,00 (€ 113.268,73) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fan Zeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Finishing Touch of the Dragon Eye im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.700.000,00 (€ 2.240.417,29).
