Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Monk by Fan Zeng was worth HKD 300,000.00 (€ 38,443.73) to a buyer in October last year. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fan Zeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Finishing Touch of the Dragon Eye in August last year with an auction result of HKD 17,700,000.00 (€ 2,240,417.29).

Die Arbeit Monk von Fan Zeng war einem Käufer im Oktober letzten Jahres HKD 300.000,00 (€ 38.443,73) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fan Zeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Finishing Touch of the Dragon Eye im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.700.000,00 (€ 2.240.417,29).
