Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fairfield Porter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Morning Sun Over the South Meadow sold for USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fairfield Porter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Schooner II in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fairfield Porter erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern American Art wurde die Arbeit Morning Sun Over the South Meadow für USD 126.000,00 (€ 114.130,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fairfield Porter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Schooner II im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.932.500,00 (€ 1.655.955,44).
