Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Roses, Tulips, Narcissae, Chrysanthemums and other Summer blooms in a ewer on a ledge with a beetle, butterfly and bee by F. van Geit was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,603.95). Other works by F. van Geit have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2001 by the work Peonies, tulips and other summer flowers in a glass vase on a stone ledge at GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,167.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Roses, Tulips, Narcissae, Chrysanthemums and other Summer blooms in a ewer on a ledge with a beetle, butterfly and bee von F. van Geit im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.603,95) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von F. van Geit wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2001 die Arbeit Peonies, tulips and other summer flowers in a glass vase on a stone ledge mit GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.167,34).
