Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection, which included the work Composition with Banister by Evgeny Rukhin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,023.33), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Evgeny Rukhin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Russian Da Nyet, 1975 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,220.97).
