In August last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Portrait of a Lady by Everett Shinn. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,433.68), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Everett Shinn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Park Scene in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 332,500.00 (€ 255,572.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady von Everett Shinn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.433,68) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Everett Shinn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Park Scene im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 332.500,00 (€ 255.572,64).
