It achieved a price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,998.89), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Evelyn de Morgan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gloria in Excelsis in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 622,500.00 (€ 695,387.98).

Die Arbeit Study for 'In Memoriam' von Evelyn de Morgan kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.998,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Evelyn de Morgan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gloria in Excelsis im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 622.500,00 (€ 695.387,98).
