In October 2004 Christies in New York held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work By the Riverbank by Eugène Cicéri. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 33,460.00 (€ 26,251.37). With this result, By the Riverbank is even the most expensive work of art by Eugène Cicéri that we have observed at auctions so far.
