Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Set Design for Felix Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony by Eugene Berman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,815.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Berman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Backview of Proserpina in Black in May this year with an auction result of USD 68,040.00 (€ 63,863.34).
