Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Study Of A Man Jumping by Etienne-Jules Marey for USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,017.03). This price was achieved in the auction Classic Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Etienne-Jules Marey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charvier. Essai au frein de Prony, 12 Kilogrm, au tour in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,830.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Study Of A Man Jumping von Etienne-Jules Marey für USD 2.250,00 (€ 2.017,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Classic Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Etienne-Jules Marey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charvier.
