Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Mother And Daughter by Étienne-Charles Leguay for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,524.96). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Étienne-Charles Leguay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady And Gentleman, Circa 1801 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,637.44).
