Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Etel Adnan was sold in the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 630,000.00 (€ 73,927.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Etel Adnan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 352,800.00 (€ 417,972.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Etel Adnan wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 630.000,00 (€ 73.927,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Etel Adnan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 352.800,00 (€ 417.972,71).
