The work The Card Player; The Cardinal; The Smoker by Erwin Eichinger was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,579.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erwin Eichinger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A lucky throw, which sold at auction in March 2004 for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,155.22).
