It achieved a price of NLG 1,997.50 (€ 925.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernst Vijlbrief - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children, which sold at auction in March 2007 for EUR 1,920.00.

Die Arbeit Tibetaanse Nacht II von Ernst Vijlbrief kam im März 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 1.997,50 (€ 925,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernst Vijlbrief mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children beobachtet, die im März 2007 für EUR 1.920,00 versteigert wurde.
