In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Continental Paintings, which included the work View Of A House Through A Wooded Garden by Ernst Oppler. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,308.20) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernst Oppler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Doppelporträt: der Maler und Jo. in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 27,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Continental Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of A House Through A Wooded Garden von Ernst Oppler zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.308,20) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernst Oppler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Doppelporträt: der Maler und Jo. im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.500,00.
