Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Elegant gentleman in long waistcoat by Ernst Josephson was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 18,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 16,000.00 (€ 1,530.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernst Josephson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swedish 14 Juillet in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 381,000.00 (€ 428,759.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Elegant gentleman in long waistcoat von Ernst Josephson im Juni 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 18.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 16.000,00 (€ 1.530,05) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernst Josephson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swedish 14 Juillet im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 381.000,00 (€ 428.759,69).
