In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Sketch for Song On One Note by Ernie Barnes. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,760.00 (€ 20,075.65), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May last year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000.00 (€ 14,234,460.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sketch for Song On One Note von Ernie Barnes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.760,00 (€ 20.075,65) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000,00 (€ 14.234.460,91).
