Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Mount Martha, Victoria by Ernest William Buckmaster. The price achieved of AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,623.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest William Buckmaster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning along the Goulburn Thornton towards Eildon, Victoria in May 2003 with an auction result of AUD 27,025.00 (€ 14,959.53).
