In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work On the Dochart, Perthshire by Ernest Walbourn. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,432.48), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Walbourn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the ducks, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).

Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the Dochart, Perthshire von Ernest Walbourn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.432,48) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Walbourn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Feeding the ducks beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85) versteigert wurde.
