Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Highland cattle watering by Ernest Walbourn. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,697.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Walbourn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Feeding the ducks in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).
