In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection, which included the work Fishing Eagle's Nest Lake by Ernest Blumenschein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,562.50 (€ 69,120.76), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Blumenschein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Blanket And Blue Spruce in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,070,186.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing Eagle's Nest Lake von Ernest Blumenschein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 81.562,50 (€ 69.120,76) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernest Blumenschein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Blanket And Blue Spruce im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.070.186,42).
