Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Portrait of William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898), bust-length by Ernest Gustave Girardot. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 836.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Gustave Girardot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A lady with a parrot in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,683.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898), bust-length von Ernest Gustave Girardot zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 836,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Gustave Girardot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A lady with a parrot im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.683,26).
