The work The Haymakers by Ernest Chateignon was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in September 2015. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,432.63), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ernest Chateignon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rentrée des blés - Auvergne sold at auction in March 2004 with the realized price of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,512.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Haymakers von Ernest Chateignon wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.432,63) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ernest Chateignon; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Rentrée des blés - Auvergne im März 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.512,98).
