In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work La Blanchisseuse by Ernest Chateignon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,276.89), 44% above the upper estimate. Other works by Ernest Chateignon have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,512.98) in March 2004 for the work Rentrée des blés - Auvergne.

Im November 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Blanchisseuse von Ernest Chateignon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.276,89) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Ernest Chateignon haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.512,98) im März 2004 für die Arbeit Rentrée des blés - Auvergne beobachtet.
