In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Crépuscule sur la plage sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,299.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Ange Duez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Mélancolie in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,743.56).
