The work Danish mosaic by Erik Ortvad was sold in the 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective auction at Sothebys in London in November 2017. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,810.89) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erik Ortvad - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Danish Landet Jeg Kender (The Country I Know), which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 16,100.00 (€ 20,479.90).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Danish mosaic von Erik Ortvad wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.810,89) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Erik Ortvad mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Danish Landet Jeg Kender (The Country I Know) beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 16.100,00 (€ 20.479,90) versteigert wurde.
