Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian French Street Scene by Eric Wilson was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The price achieved of AUD 21,600.00 (€ 13,171.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Wilson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paris, 1940s, which sold at auction in April 2021 for AUD 61,500.00 (€ 51,122.19).

Die Arbeit Australian French Street Scene von Eric Wilson kam im November 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 21.600,00 (€ 13.171,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Wilson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Paris, 1940s beobachtet, die im April 2021 für AUD 61.500,00 (€ 51.122,19) versteigert wurde.
