Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Young Woman Seated, Uvbi Series by Erhabor Emokpae. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,874.33), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erhabor Emokpae - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The New Seekers, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,098.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Woman Seated, Uvbi Series von Erhabor Emokpae zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.874,33) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Erhabor Emokpae mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The New Seekers beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.098,39) versteigert wurde.
