Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work The Crucifixion by Erhabor Emokpae. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,463.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Erhabor Emokpae - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The New Seekers, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,098.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Crucifixion von Erhabor Emokpae zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.463,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Erhabor Emokpae mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The New Seekers beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.098,39) versteigert wurde.
