Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,125.00. Admittedly, works by Eppo Doeve have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A portrait of the actor Louis van Gasteren Senior in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 15,000.00.

Die Arbeit Merchants by the steamship Bentinck of P&O (Peninsular and Orietal Steam Navigation Company) von Eppo Doeve wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.125,00 einen neuen Besitzer.
