Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Portrait Series), 2013 (3) by Ephrem Solomon was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,437.50 (€ 4,927.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ephrem Solomon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silence Series, 2017, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,116.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait Series), 2013 (3) von Ephrem Solomon kam im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.437,50 (€ 4.927,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ephrem Solomon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silence Series, 2017 beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.116,56) versteigert wurde.
